Kia ora folk, where did the year go? We are nearly there, end of 2023 with only 26 Sleeps to go until the big day, Christmas Day. The Pohutakawa here in Opotiki, Bay of Plenty, are already beginning to bloom and many Kiwis think of the blooming Pohutakawa as the true Christmas tree. Many seafood lovers also know that the kina (sea urchins) are fat when the Pohutakawa are blooming! Yum! Yum! and, it's going to be a scorcher of a summer too!
